On this trip to Maasai Mara, we finally spotted and photographed the Big 5, and Emanuel, our driver and guide, almost pulled off the record of spotting the Big 5 in a single game drive, except that we spotted the Black Rhinoceros in the 2nd game drive. However, in this post, we cover some of the best sightings we had from a photography stand point during our last trip to Maasai Mara. The sighting of the three adult African Lions was one of the highlights of this trip. And we were just in time as the African Elephant herd crossed the road in front of our jeep.

The sighting of the herd of Black Rhinoceros especially after driving around in circles was the toughest to spot. And when we did spot them, the twilight zone light made the sighting even more spectacular. While we saw many Cape Buffaloes, observing the sparring Cape Buffaloes was all about being in the right place at the right time.

And finally the incredible  sighting of the elusive African Leopard, on the first game drive, made it all worthwhile in the end.
