The Common Hawk-cuckoo popularly known as the brain-fever bird for its high pitched call is a species of Cuckoo that look so similar to the Shikra that they are often mistaken for the same.

Invariably one will first hear this bird before spotting on, thanks to its brain-fever call which is by far the loudest call in the Indian wilderness.

One of our first and close sightings of the Tiger was just after we sighted this bird and that cherished memory gets replayed every time we see this bird. Here are a few images of this species.
