This series on Gold-fronted Leafbird is compiled from images taken during multiples visits to Forest Hills, Masinagudi in Tamilnadu, India.In our previous post on Forest Hills, you would have noticed a similar image of the Juvenile Gold-fronted Leafbird.

This adult Gold-fronted Leafbird is a colorful but challenging subject to photograph since they are very shy and rarely sit on open perches. We were just lucky to get this fella on a open perch.

The Singapore cherry tree is a great place to spot these birds though they are pretty well camouflaged in it. It was an interesting experience to watch this Gold-fronted Leafbird eat Singapore cherries. Here are a few images on the Leafbird’s skillful technique of eating this fruit.
