We had a couple of days off and with the weekend round the corner, we headed off to Kabini Tiger Reserve, our favourite wildlife haunt close to home. We did the first two game drives and came back with a few keepers. The Muntjac, commonly known as Barking Deer, was drinking water and its reflection in the waterhole made a lovely composition.

The male Gaur, probably the largest wild cattle in the world, can weigh over a ton – this fellow makes a ton look light. The lovely picture of the Grey Heron, in the waterhole, was the best sighting on this safari. And not to mention the Malabar Giant Squirrel that sat eating a wild fruit to its heart’s content.
