We headed to the Ngorongoro Crater after spending two nights at the Kirawira Tented camp in Western Serengeti. As we were driving through the Western Serengeti National Park, we noticed a pack of Black-backed Jackal cubs playing with some plastic garbage that had been carelessly disposed by an irresponsible tourist. We parked our jeep by the roadside and quietly observed and photographed these Jackal cubs, whose antics were quite amusing to watch. After a while, one of the cubs got curious about our parked Jeep and came along to investigate – a perfect opportunity that gave us frame filling closeup compositions of the Black-backed Jackal.
