The Rhesus Macaque is the primate with the 2nd largest geographical distribution in the world, next only to humans. Given their abundant supply they are the most preferred primate for research and many of the vaccines that are available today are thanks to the research done on this species of Macaques. The Rhesus Macaques live in groups of 10 to 80 individuals. We had the opportunity to see a few large groups in the wild in the forests of India. During our recent visit to Pench national park, we spent sometime observing one group of Macaques and here are few images from the sighting. All images are of wild Rhesus Macaques and have been taken with the D300, 300mm f2.8 with the 2x TC.
