We started today with the sighting of the Pride of Lions in the Serengeti national park. What made that sighting special was that we saw these Lions in the beautiful morning light and they came up right next to the Land Cruiser. They also spent quite a bit of time resting on the safari tracks giving us the opportunity to get closeup frames.
The following sighting of the Helmeted Guineafowl gave us the unique opportunity of photographing a Guineafowl at eye level against the backdrop of blue skies.
And then the sighting of the African Wattled Plover at close quarters rounded off theĀ special start to our day. This Plover seemed absolutely undisturbed by the presence of our vehicle. It’s a different matter that we always switch off the engines and wait quietly till the subject gets comfortable before we start the explosion of clicks. The Plover came close to the Cruiser and settled down and started preening itself giving us a nice few minutes to get full frame portraits of it.
