Like I said in my earlier post on visiting Bandipur during the monsoon – the wilderness has much more to offer, if you are willing to look beyond Tigers. And this sighting of a huge Tusker wallowing in sticky clay goes to prove that point and more. Not just was this Elephant wallowing in clay, it was lying on its side and showering itself with moist clay. Normally we see Elephants standing high on four legs and throwing up mud onto themselves; hence to see one on the forest floor rolling in mud, was a first.
