While we had an amazing first glimpse of the Barasingha, when we entered the Kanha National Park – we saw the deer at a distance and wished he had been closer. That wish was fully granted as we were on our way out of the park. As we headed towards the park gates to end our morning drive, this incredible Barasingha literally stopped us in our tracks! He was casually crossing the road and we got our wish of a close encounter fulfilled to our hearts fill.

He was neither shy nor bothered about our vehicle, as he crossed the road right in front of the vehicle giving us a perfect view of his incredible antlers.

And on the afternoon drive, this curious sub-adult male was right next to the road and, we scooped up the opportunity of framing him in a portrait composition.
