Most of us would have seen the pristine Pangong Lake in Ladakh, the world’s highest brackish water lake, situated at 14,250 feet, at eye level. Which is exactly what we did the first day we were at the lake – you can see the pictures on an earlier post here. We decided to take the high altitude experience to a completely different level, when we hiked up a 1,500 feet hillock. The image (below) shows the hillock that we climbed, taken from the lake bed level.


The picture (above) is taken from the top of the 1,500 feet hill, overlooking the Pangong lake – this was after we hiked for couple of hours to reach the top. Below are some more pictures of this beautiful lake from this height.
