Carrying on from where we left off in the previous post – the African Lioness carrying her new born cubs, probably to be introduced to the pride, made a sudden change in direction. She was now headed directly towards our vehicle. I made the most of this incredible unprecedented sighting by capturing every step of hers in a multitude of frames.
At one point during her stroll, she stopped and turned around. She put the cub down and retraced her walk. We were wondering what she was up to. We were pleasantly surprised when she picked up the second cub and turned around to walk towards us.
It was a once in a lifetime opportunity to see this wildlife spectacle of a caring mother carrying her new born babies one after the other, so that they don’t get left behind. As she emerged next to our jeep, it was clear that she was headed to the other side of the road.
