The light was fast fading and we were headed in the opposite direction to that of Mara Serena. Emanuel our driver & guide, told us that a pride of Lions were seen close-by and he wanted to see if we could catch a glimpse of them before heading back to the resort. We didn’t have to drive far before spotting them – a pride of African Lions (below) with sub-adult cubs in Masai Mara. The light was poor and therefore we could only manage record shots. One of the cubs got curious of us and came closer. The feature picture (above) is a tight closeup of the most curious cub when it came within the 600mm range of my lens.
The curious cub, gave us a few photo opportunities in the fading light and given its proximity to the jeep, we managed a few crisp pictures (above), before it was too dark to photograph. As a parting shot, we took one last record image (below) of the pride of Lions before we headed back to the lodge. What a spectacular game drive it was to begin this trip to Masai Mara!
