The Indian wilderness comes alive during the monsoons and Kabini backwaters is a great place to witness the vibrant lush green forests of India. Its also a time when you get to see huge herds of Chital or Spotted Deer and Chital stags with their gorgeous antlers. The rutting calls of the Chital stags announcing their presence reverberates through the forests of Kabini and behaviours like these are everywhere to see.
The predators are spoilt for choice because of the huge herd of Chitals at the Kabini backwaters.
The monsoon time is also a great time to see the Woodpeckers and Sloth Bear in action since the loose soil of the termite mounds are easier to dig through. So is the case with the dead tree trunks and branches.
