The full day safari option that we opted for in Ranthambore National Park gave us the liberty to stay a little longer than all the other tourists, and we were one of the last vehicles to leave the park. As we were exiting Zone 3, we were approaching one of the lakes that Zone is known for. Right ahead of us on the road was a Tigress walking along the road. Her proximity to the road was a clear giveaway that she wasn’t expecting us. As she was bothered by our presence, we quickly took a position ahead of her to observe her walking. After walking for a few yards, she went to the lake – her favourite spot to cool off the morning heat. In the process, she gave us the opportunity to take a few pictures, before we dashed off to exit the zone.
