We were on an evening safari in the Kabini Tiger Reserve and we spent a whole 2.5 hours with no sightings except for a fleeting view of an Elephant with her calf, both of whom vanished into the Kabini undergrowth in a jiffy.
We just had 20 minutes to exit the park – it had started drizzling and the light was dying. That’s when we saw this Tigress. Though the conditions weren’t conducive for good pictures, we made the most of the sighting. Here is a series of pictures from the few minutes we spent with the Tigress, popularly called the “Backwater female”.
